Odoo 20 was released in September 2026, at Odoo Experience in Brussels. The official release notes list hundreds of changes, from accounting to the website builder. Most of them are small. A few will change how your team works every day.
We build and test our apps on every Odoo version, so we went through the whole list. Here are the new features that matter, app by app, and the changes to check before you upgrade.
Offline mode and a better mobile app
The biggest change for people in the field: Odoo 20 works offline. You can create, edit and delete records without a connection, and run your previous searches again. Everything syncs when the network comes back.
- On mobile, the command palette opens with a swipe, and dates are picked from a bottom sheet.
- Share a file from your phone to Odoo to create a vendor bill, an expense or a task.
- Bottom-sheet panels now also work on tablets in touch mode.
AI agents that act, not only answer
In Odoo 20, AI agents create and update records, also from a file you upload, run from scheduled actions and take voice requests. Odoo picks the AI model for each task, and a new MCP connection lets other tools reach your database.
One thing to plan for: AI features now use IAP credits, which you buy separately.
Small changes you will use every day
- Pin important messages in the chatter, and filter it to show only conversations or only tracked changes.
- Add CC recipients to emails sent from Odoo.
- Share a link to a view that keeps its search, filters and grouping.
- Move several records at once by drag and drop in list and Kanban views.
- Download the attachments of many records in one go.
- Arrows move a relative date filter, such as "this month", one period back or forward.
- When a record cannot be deleted, Odoo offers to archive it.
Accounting: less typing, fewer mistakes
- Bill line prediction: Odoo suggests the lines of a vendor bill from its history and labels.
- Better duplicate detection, with a red warning for likely duplicates and a yellow one for possible ones.
- Manual and automatic reminders for customer invoices.
- Clearer payment status: "In Process" becomes "Paid", and "Paid" becomes "Reconciled".
- Parent accounts replace account groups, and account codes become optional.
- Pay vendor bills from Odoo with a single signature, through a payment initiation service.
Sales, inventory and manufacturing
- Sales orders get line numbers, product images and lines without a product. Change the margin and the price follows.
- Reordering rules can suggest their minimum and maximum from your demand history.
- See your inventory at a past date, print CMR road-freight documents, and process returns without the old wizard.
- Manufacturing has one Produce button everywhere, can split an order in progress and lets the next operation start before the previous one is finished.
Point of Sale and Website
The Point of Sale accepts several currencies at checkout, finds an order by its invoice or receipt number, and lets you hide a product for a while when it runs out. A point of sale can now use several printers.
On the website, an AI assistant edits blocks, pages, forms and menus. Odoo now publishes an llms.txt file and structured data by default, and URLs can be translated in every language.
Before you upgrade: what can break
Some changes affect custom modules and third-party apps. Test the upgrade on a copy of your database first. Check in particular:
- Record rules are replaced by domains set on access rights.
- Material Symbols replace the Font Awesome icons, in custom views and website themes too.
- Tracking values are no longer stored: tracking messages are generated on the fly.
- Field Service is merged into Planning, and payroll no longer uses work entries.
- On your own server, Odoo 20 needs Python 3.12 and PostgreSQL 16 or later.
Every third-party app you use needs its own 20.0 version. Ask the vendor before you plan the date.
SHARQIX apps on Odoo 20
All our published apps are available for Odoo 20, Community and Enterprise, and every one is tested on it: Direct Print, KPI Dashboards, Office Preview, the line editors and the others. Odoo 20 also improves its own Dashboards app, with private dashboards and saved filters; our guide to Odoo dashboards compares it with the other options.
